Creates an exact duplicate of the current record. This saves a lot of retyping when you have two contact names at the same address and phone number -- just enter one, duplicate it, and change the name in the duplicate.
When you enter a duplicate, it is placed at the end of the file until you resort.
To duplicate an existing record:
• Find the record you want to duplicate.
• Choose "Duplicate Record", Cmd-+, from the Record Menu, or click on the "Duplicate Record" button in the icon palette.
• Click "OK" to confirm the duplication. The duplicate becomes the current record and is stored as the last record in the document (not next to the parent record).
• Alter the duplicate record IMMEDIATELY by editing the text in one or more of the fields.
NOTE: Dynodex does not check for exact duplicates before printing. Your Dynodex printout will list exact duplicates in succession. To avoid repeated records in your directory, make sure you change a duplicate record to distinguish it from its parent as soon as you create it. You can delete duplicates before printing, just to be sure (see "Delete Duplicates" command).
